What You’ll Do

As an Entry-Level Plumber / Drain Technician, you’ll work with residential and commercial customers while learning how to diagnose, maintain, and repair plumbing and drain systems.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Perform residential and commercial drain cleaning services
  • Assist with diagnosing clogged or slow-running drains
  • Operate professional drain-cleaning equipment
  • Assist experienced plumbers and technicians with plumbing repairs and installations
  • Learn to identify common plumbing and drainage problems
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance as your training progresses
  • Assist with sewer camera inspections and diagnostic services
  • Explain service findings and recommendations to customers
  • Maintain accurate service records using mobile technology
  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable plumbing standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle
  • Protect customers’ homes and businesses while performing work
  • Provide friendly, professional, and dependable customer service
  • Participate in ongoing technical and customer-service training

Qualifications

  • No plumbing license required for this entry-level position
  • Previous plumbing or drain-cleaning experience is helpful but not required
  • Mechanical or construction experience is a plus
  • Strong willingness to learn a skilled trade
  • Dependable and motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working with tools and equipment
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers
  • Strong customer-service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently after completing required training
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds when necessary
  • Ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and outdoor environments
  • Ability to participate in an on-call or rotating weekend schedule as needed

  • Plumbing helper or apprentice experience
  • Drain cleaning
  • Construction or home-services experience
  • Maintenance or facilities work
  • Mechanical repair
  • HVAC or electrical experience
  • Landscaping or other hands-on trade experience
  • Customer service
  • Sales experience
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • General troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
